ELISE LOBBEDEZ

Elise is a lecturer (assistant professor) at the University of Essex, United Kingdom.

Her research focuses on the dynamics of power and resistance, with an emphasis on the possibility of social and ecological transformations in repressive settings.

She employs ethnography, and more generally qualitative methods, to investigate the mechanisms underlying violent conflicts, the dynamics of collaborations and competitions between activists, and the sustaining of high-risk activism.
