First of all, on behalf of OCE, I would like to wish you a *** Happy New Year ***. Might 2019 be filled with exciting achievements, love and joy for you all. I wish you the best for this coming year, and for all the following ones.
Now that traditional e-greetings have been done, let’s get to serious business. ‘Cause there’s a breaking news !
You may not know it yet, but a group of astronomers have recently identified a shockingly large spherical object in space. There are indeed reliable sources confirming that something shaped as a big appetizing Galette des rois -apparently propelled by some bottles of Norman ciders– is coming at us at very high speed (the odds to witness such an event are believed to be quite unlikely). Experts argue that they have never observed such a huge cake before. A rigorous analysis of the form and composition of this galette from outer-space would attest to a “unique” and “exceptional taste”, scientists say. One of the astronomers involved in these findings, although humble, attested the importance of their disruptive discovery: “we might have encounter another form of food here, superiorly delicious than our usual nutriments on earth”. The enclosed picture have been massively spread among the scientist community.
Galethéus OC2019-E will reach Ecully on Thursday, January 10th at 9am. The exact location is confirmed to be the Wellness Center (Building A). An OCE team is planned to be on site to settle a “welcoming”, and deal with the thing. Any volunteers to support us in this operation are welcome.
Then, with the survivors we could start our OCE Conference Papers, which is a very good opportunity for any of you willing to present a paper at EGOS or AOM (or else) to receive dedicated feedbacks. If you are interested in submitting us a paper for review, do not forget that you only have a few days left (the deadline is January 6th). Cf. our previous message at the end of this mail for details.
At last, please also indicate in the doodle whether or not you plan to stay with us for lunch, so that we can order enough meal-trays for you. Ultimate deadline for meal-tray request is fiercely fixed at 12pm, this Friday 4th.
